Facebook Places is now live in Canada. In early September we asked 1002 members of Delvinia’s AskingCanadians research panel whether they would be using Facebook’s Places feature when it launched. At that time only 12% of respondents said Yes, while 21% said No. The majority of respondents were Undecided (30%) or didn’t yet know (36%) what Places was.

When we broke that down by gender, 16% of males said yes they would be using Places while 6% of women said no. It would be interesting to see if this gender breakdown was consistent across other location-based check-in applications such as Foursquare or Gowalla.
