In a recent AskingCanadians™ poll, conducted by Delvinia Data Collection for ITbusiness.ca, the majority of Canadians (62.4 per cent) indicated they drive tech-free vehicles. But, many reported using IT products behind the wheel.

According to the survey results, the most popular technologies being used are GPS navigation (16.2 per cent) and Bluetooth connectivity (15.8 per cent). Another nine per cent of Canadians have voice-activated features in their cars and six per cent have touch screen consoles.

In “Next stop for tech ubiquity – your car,” ITbusiness.ca writer Brian Jackson reports that more than one-third of respondents indicated they would consider GPS navigation to be the most important technology to have in a car, while 17.5 per cent chose Bluetooth and 11.2 per cent selected voice-activated features.

The data for this poll, which included 1,058 respondents, was collected between March 10-13.
