Steve Mast_02_landscape_SmallDelvinia President Steve Mast has been elected as a new member of the Canadian Marketing Association’s Board of Directors.

“I’m very excited to be part of the leadership and vision for the next three years,” said Steve, who noted that the CMA has started to reshape itself for where marketing is headed. “There are a number of transformational initiatives going on that I’m thrilled about being involved with.”

The CMA Board appointment notice appears in The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business today.

At its Annual Meeting on June 4, the Association elected Walter Levitt, Executive Vice-President, Marketing at Comedy Central, as Chair of the CMA Board of Directors for the 2013/2014 year. The Association also elected Stephen Brown, President, Fuse Marketing Group as Vice-Chair of the Board.

Mélanie Dunn, President Cossette, Quebec and Chairman of Vision7 Quebec; Stephen Forbes, Executive Vice-President, CIBC Marketing, Strategy, Communications and President’s Choice Financial, CIBC; and Sandra Sanderson, Senior Vice-President, Marketing, Shoppers Drug Mart were also elected as new members of the Board.

Delvinia joined the CMA in 2003 and Steve quickly became involved in many of their initiatives.

“There wasn’t a digital marketing community at the time. I joined the integrated marketing and customer experience council,” said Steve, who has chaired multiple CMA conferences over the years, including the Digital Marketing conference and the Social Media conference.

Steve also spent five years as a member of the CMA’s National Convention committee and most recently co-chaired the CMA/MRIA Customer Experience Conference, held in April. He was also a guest speaker at the 2013 CMA National Convention in Toronto.

“I hope to draw from my experience on the ground to help the Association meet its vision over the next three years,” Steve said. “Marketing is undergoing a massive transformation and we don’t know what it will look like in three to five years. It’s very exciting to be part of it.”
