Adam-Froman-&-Samuel-LegrosEarlier this week, our CEO Adam Froman had the opportunity to present the third annual Delvinia Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award at Ryerson University.

This year’s recipient is Samuel Legros, a fourth year student in the RTA School of Media. The award presentation was made during the RTA Awards Luncheon at Ryerson, on Monday.

The Delvinia award was established for digital entrepreneurs who push boundaries, aim high and take big risks. The scholarship is open to students entering into their final undergraduate year with the award recipient being invited to participate in an informal mentorship opportunity with Adam.

In addition to meeting certain academic requirements, students are asked to submit a written statement as part of their submission answering the question: In your experience, as an aspiring digital entrepreneur, how do you connect with an entrepreneurial story like Delvinia’s?

Samuel, identified with the award as a young innovator and entrepreneur himself saying, “Much like Delvinia, I have strived to be both collaborative and innovative within the digital entrepreneurship realm.” Having been involved in several challenges and holding several positions in the digital entrepreneurship world, Samuel translates his passion for creativity and technology to innovation, much like Delvinia.

Samuel also added, “I am truly honoured (and speechless) to be the recipient of this years Delvinia Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award generously provided by Delvinia. It is through benefactors like Delvinia that students can fulfill their post secondary degree programs incurring less financial stress. The monetary award will be applied towards my tuition and will better help me prepare for post-graduate studies.”

Delvinia’s award at Ryerson, along with a similar scholarship at the Schulich School of Business – Adam’s alma mater – was created not only because Adam wanted to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of students, but also to give back by partnering with area universities to invest in next generation talent.

Congratulations to Samuel on winning this year’s award!
